SEARCH CRITERIA

FieldAgentLocator_20One of the core features provided by the Field Agent Locator is to search for other players. Searches are performed by clicking the search button at the top right corner of the FAL interface. Several options are available through the interface to narrow the search results for specific interests. These features are accessible through the filter panel displayed in the screen shot below.

Roles: The first option available is the players role which can be seen expanded in the previous screenshot. With this field the search results can be filtered to only include a specific role or can be left to the default value of “All” which will include all available roles in the search results. One of the unique features provided only through FAL is the ability to search for a particular damage type. The Funcom LFG tool only provides three roles to filter by (Tank, Healer and Damage). FAL splits the Damage role into three distinct roles (Ranged Damage, Melee Damage and Support). This allows a more granular search to be performed by FAL than what is provided through the Funcom LFG tool. One caveat to keep in mind however is the Ranged Damage, Melee Damage and Support roles only supported through FAL will all show up as the Damage role in the Funcom LFG tool due to the differences with how the bi-directional data feed is handled between the Funcom LFG tool and FAL. More information on the data feed and how it works is covered here. Players that only use the Funcom LFG tool who are queued up as DPS will simply show up as “Damage” in FAL.

Categories: Another exclusive feature only available through FAL is the ability to search for multiple types or categories of play fields. Not only does FAL provide support for searching for players interested in dungeons but support for lairs, warzones, battlefields, fight clubs and raids are also provided. Selecting a category of interest will automatically load the list of available play fields under the Play Field option.

Play Fields: A vast number of play fields are supported through FAL and are displayed in relation to the currently selected category option. All of the standard dungeon play fields provided through the Funcom LFG tool are supported and displayed when the “Dungeons” category option is selected. The Field Agent Locator does not stop there however. Several play fields only available through FAL are supported under the following categories:

  • Lairs
    • Kingsmouth
    • Savage Coast
  • Warzones (PvP)
    • Fusang Projects
  • Battle Fields (PvP)
    • El Dorado
    • Stonehenge
  • Fight Clubs (PvP)
    • London
    • New York
    • Seoul
  • Raids
    • Manhattan Exclusion Zone

Again an important point to keep in mind is that play fields not supported by the Funcom LFG tool (Warzones and Battle Fields) will not be displayed in that tool. The players only queued for those play fields will only be visible through the FAL interface due to the differences with how the bi-directional data feed is handled between the Funcom LFG tool and FAL. More information on the data feed and how it works is covered here.

Mode: All the standard difficulty modes (Normal, Elite and Nightmare) are available through FAL. The list of available modes is automatically updated in relation to the currently selected play field option.

RESULTS GRID

The results matching the specified filter criteria are displayed here. Several features are supported by the grid and are covered below.

Sorting: All columns except for the first two (Options and Society) support sorting the results by clicking on the their headers. Clicking on the headers multiple times will toggle between ascending and descending order.

Menu Column: The menu options column is the first column located in the grid. Clicking the menu for each row will display several features available for that column. The menu will display the players name and provide the ability to invite the player to your group directly through the FAL interface. Other features include inspecting the player (covered in detail here), sending the player a message, friending the player and ignoring/un-ignoring the player.

Role Column: The role column displays the role(s) the player is queued up for any given play field. If the player is queued up for a single role it will be displayed in the column. Any players queued up for multiple roles will have the first role they specified with an ellipses appended to the end of the role name. The ellipses indicates the player has selected multiple roles. Clicking on the provided menu in the role column will display the list of roles the player has specified.

Play Field Column: The play field column displays the play field(s) the player has selected. If the player has only selected a single play field it’s name will be displayed in the column. Players who have selected multiple play fields will display the name of the first play field they have selected with an ellipses. The ellipses indicates the player has selected multiple play fields for the selected category. Clicking the menu in the play field column will display the list of play fields the player has specified that match the selected category. Nightmare play fields will also include the players progression after the play fields name.

NOTIFICATIONS

At the bottom of the FAL interface you will find the notification bar. Approximately every 30 seconds FAL displays a new message here that may contain tips, news, updates, bug reports etc. The purpose of the notification bar is to support the ability to provide the player with any important information about FAL. These messages can be updated in the back-end on the fly by the FAL admin and displayed in the notification bar without requiring any updates by the player.
